I recently attended my first eWomenNetwork Platinum Summit at the lovely city of Newport Beach. I must say I was impressed. The level of conversations was deep and elevated. The women who attended are seriously committed to business success.

I walked away with many lessons. The one I want to share with you is the six P’s of running a successful business. I love the way Sandra Yancey, President of eWomenNetwork, uses the six P’s to manage her business and going forward so will I. Below are the six P’s.

People – Refers to the people you surround yourself with and the people you hire. Surround yourself with people who are doing what you want to be doing. Hire people who have focus and a positive attitude.

Priorities – Do your daily actions move the needle of your business? Choose three action items daily that will move you closer to your business goals.

Product – Create products that meet your customer requirements and repurpose wherever possible.

Processes – Document the way you do business from the way you run your operations to how you handle customer relations. You cannot scale your business without them.

Plate – How full is your plate? What do you need to Stop, Start and Continue doing? Log all your tasks so that you can analyze how you are spending your time.

Performance – Establish metrics in areas that indicate the quality of your processes, products, return on investment, etc. Ask yourself “who have I spoken to this month that I didn’t know last month?” How are you becoming visible and connecting with your ideal client?

When something is quite not right in your business, take a look at the six P’s. Your root cause can be found in one of them.
